Northern Railway Apprentice Recruitment 2025
The Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC), Northern Railway (NR), has invited online applications from eligible and desirous candidates for the engagement of 4116 Act Apprentices under the Apprentices Act 1961. This training will be imparted at various Divisions/Units/Workshops across Northern Railway.
Important Note: Imparting training in the Railway will not confer any right to the candidates for absorption or employment in the Railway after successful completion of training.

🎓 Northern Railway Apprentice Recruitment 2025: Essential Qualifications
As on the date of issue of notification (18.11.2025), a candidate must possess the following essential qualifications:

Passed SSC/Matriculation/10th class examination (under 10+2 system) or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate, from a recognized Board.

Must have passed ITI in the relevant trade issued by NCVT/SCVT recognized by the Government of India.

Candidates whose results for SSC/Matriculation/10th and ITI are awaited as of the notification date are NOT eligible to apply.
Northern Railway Apprentice Recruitment 2025 : Age Limit
The age limit is calculated as of the closing date of the Online Application, i.e., 24.12.2025.

⚙️Northern Railway Apprentice Recruitment 2025: Mode of Selection
The selection process is based purely on merit; there will be no written test or viva.

Merit List Preparation: The merit list will be prepared based on the average of the percentage marks obtained in both:

Matriculation/SSC/10th (with minimum 50% aggregate marks).

ITI Examination.

Equal weightage will be given to both scores.

Tie-breaking Criteria: In case of candidates having the same marks, the candidate who is older in age shall be preferred. If the Date of Birth is also the same, the candidate who passed the matriculation exam earlier shall be considered first.

Final Merit List: A final merit list will be prepared cluster, trade-wise, and community-wise in the descending order of the percentage of marks.

Candidate Registration: Fill in details like Name, Father’s Name, Community, Mobile No., Email ID, and Date of Birth to Register.

Login: Upon successful registration, you will receive a password via Email/SMS. Log in to the “Candidate Dashboard”.

Application Form: Fill up the Application Form completely.

Fee Payment: Pay the application fee (Rs. 100/-) through the online mode, unless exempted (SC/ST/PwBD/Women).

Upload Documents: Upload the required documents, including Photograph, Signature, and Thumb Impression (size 10 to 50 KB in jpg format), and all relevant certificates.

Final Submission: Submit the application finally and take a printout of the application and fee payment slip for your record.

Since selection is purely based on the merit of your academic marks, your primary focus should be on preparing your documents accurately and ensuring timely submission.

Mark Sheet Accuracy: The merit list is based on the average of your 10th and ITI marks. Double-check the marks and CGPA conversion entered in the online application against your original mark sheet to avoid summary rejection at the Document Verification stage.
