  • ONGC has no obligation to offer regular employment to Apprentices during or after the completion of the apprenticeship period.

Note: The trades and number of seats are tentative and may change as per ONGC’s requirement  (Page 13, 15). Candidates must be a resident (Domicile) of or have obtained their requisite qualification from the eligible district(s) against the chosen work centre (Refer to Annexure 1 for details)  (Page 13).

  1. Age Criteria (Page 13)
  • Minimum Age:18 years as on 06.11.2025.
  • Maximum Age:24 years as on 06.11.2025.
  • The Date of Birth of the applicant should be between 11.2001and 06.11.2007.

Age Relaxation (Upper Age Limit):

  • SC/ST candidates: Relaxed by 5 years.
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates: Relaxed by 3 years.
  • PwBD candidates: Up to 10 years.
  • PwBD (SC/ST): Up to 15 years.
  • PwBD (OBC Non-Creamy Layer): Up to 13 years.

Important Notes on Qualification:

  • Qualifications acquired through distance learning shall be accepted if recognized by relevant statutory bodies (Page 15).
  • Candidates with B.A / B.Com / B.B.A / B.E. / B.Tech must possess qualifications recognized by relevant statutory bodies like UGC/AICTE etc (Page 15).
  • For posts requiring an Electrician Trade Certificate, a Trade Certificate in Wireman trade is not acceptable (Page 15).

  1. Selection Process (Page 16)

Selection will be based on merit drawn from the marks obtained in the stipulated qualifying examination. In case of similar marks, the person with higher age will be considered.

Important Conditions:

  • Candidates should not have undergone or be currently pursuing Apprenticeship Training under the Apprentices Act, 1961.
  • Candidates with training or job experience of one year or more after attaining the prescribed qualifications are not eligible for Technician Apprentice engagement.
  • The applicant should NOT have completed three years after passing the qualifying examination as on the cut-off date of eligibility (06.11.2025).
  • ONGC has no obligation to offer regular employment to Apprentices during or after the completion of the apprenticeship period.
