Important Tips and Tricks for Exam Preparation

Based on the syllabus (General/Financial Awareness, Quantitative & Reasoning Aptitude, Computer Knowledge, and General English) and the lack of negative marking (Page 4), your strategy should focus on maximizing attempts while maintaining accuracy, especially in the calculation-based sections.

1. General/Financial Awareness (25 Questions)

  • Focus on Banking: This is a Bank exam. Concentrate heavily on recent news related to banking, RBI policies, financial schemes, and economics.

  • Daily Current Affairs: Read daily news focusing on the last 5-6 months. Use reliable sources like government websites or established financial news portals.

  • Static GK: Cover basic concepts like types of banks, bank headquarters, currencies, capital cities, and recent key appointments.

2. Quantitative & Reasoning Aptitude (25 Questions)

  • Speed is Key: Practice questions under a timer. Since there’s no sectional timing, you need to manage the 60 minutes effectively for all 100 questions.

  • Prioritize Easy Topics: In Quantitative Aptitude, focus on Data Interpretation (DI), Simplification/Approximation, and Number Series first.

  • Reasoning Puzzles: In Reasoning, practice common banking puzzles like seating arrangements (linear, circular), floor-based puzzles, and blood relations.

3. Computer Knowledge (25 Questions)

  • Fundamentals: Master the basics of computers, including hardware, software, operating systems, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and internet basics.

  • Banking Terms: Learn computer-related terms used specifically in banking (e.g., NEFT, RTGS, IMPS, ATM functions, phishing).

  • Focus on Terminology and Shortcuts: Questions in this section are often straightforward and based on terminology, abbreviations, and keyboard shortcuts.

4. General English (25 Questions)

  • Reading Comprehension (RC): Practice reading passages quickly and accurately answering questions, as this section is the most time-consuming.

  • Grammar & Vocabulary: Focus on error detection, fill-in-the-blanks, and cloze tests. A strong vocabulary base is crucial for improving speed and accuracy.

  • Practice Daily: Read English newspapers (especially the editorial section) daily to improve both speed and co

Exam Qualification Tips and Strategies

StrategyAction
No Negative MarkingAttempt all 100 questions. Since there is no penalty for wrong answers, attempting every question is crucial to maximize your potential score.
Time ManagementAllocate time wisely. Since the total time is 60 minutes for 100 questions, aim for about 30 seconds per question on average.
Attempt OrderStart with the sections you are strongest in, like General Awareness and Computer Knowledge, as they require the least amount of calculation time. Save Quantitative and Reasoning Aptitude for the end.
Mock TestsTake full-length mock tests regularly. Analyze your performance to identify weak areas and improve your speed and strategy.
